When is a Removal not a Removal?

Used the webmaster control panel Url removal tool
to remove our site a week ago. Shows successful, yet the site remains fully indexed in the Serps. What am I doing wrong?

robots.txt was upadted to read
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /

It sounds like your did this correctly. The tool should be reporting the status of your request. Anything helpful there?

By the way, I've never seen a requested removal take more than a week, but I never removed an entire domain either.

Actually it says status removed, but all the pages
remain indexed.
