We used the Url removal tool back in December
to remove our site from the index in order to hopefully
get rid of some of the filters that were being imposed
against us for a variety of reasons. It worked like a charm, entire site was removed. Now 180 days has passed
yet we still do not show up in the index. Have written
G with no response as yet. any idears?

thanks

It's been about 190 since I used it to remove 9 pages I wanted out to prevent a dup content issue and they started showing back up a few days ago. Google started listing them in my unreachable url's in sitemaps. Yesterday they were entered back into my supplementals. Funny thing is about 6 weeks ago G dropped all the pages I was trying to protect. So now they are listed (and they have all 404'd for 9 months) and the real pages have been deindexed.
Way to go Google! If G isn't careful the way people have started using "google" as a synonym for "search" will be replaced as a synonym for snafu. lol.
Situation normal ...all googled up. SNAGU!

I guess you have to file an reinclusion request. Once you get the first reponse, use that response when writing again to Google (for example follow-up). That makes it easy for Google to track your request.

Good luck.

I don't know how reliable the reinclusion request will be.

We've done this several times on some sites after the 180 day exclusion period and not seen evidence that Google has done anything. Certainly our sites have not been fully reinstated in terms of the page/cache count.

This can also be confused with Google's indexing behavior issues which are widely reported on WebmasterWorld.

Thing is we followed the rules and shouldn't have
to use a re-inclusion request to get back in. Doesn't
a re-inclusion request imply to Google that THEY
removed your site for nefarious reasons? We removed it
in order to attempt to clear out the hijackers, dupe page
problems...etc.. etc... that seemed to be plaguing our
site. Maybe a few more days....waited 186 now...what's a few more...right? ;)

Someone I know had their site dropped for no obvious reason, and so they filed a reinclusion request saying they had removed all the porn links, heading tag stuffing, run-of-site-links, and hidden text - even though they never had any such thing there in the first place. Seemed like the only thing to say really.

Matt Cutts also stated that if you use the url removal tool you should re-include :)

Don't think re-including the OP's site will help... It's been banned for good reason.

It's not banned never has been, and I will add,
we tried all the white hat stuff everyone has brought up "thanks to all",
but nothing worked, the only hits we ever have gotten after the penalty/ filter was imposed was with the garbagy <sp> site.

ps: If Google had actually "banned" our site, the adwords
account would have been closed immediately...but then,,,they know that don't they....

same here, actually. We've removed something G$$gle deemed inappropriate from our site and used URL removal tool. Over 180 days now, still a penalty. I don't bother checking anymore, it is a waste of my time since all the rules are a mud.

They are laughing their arses off looking at webmasters running circles around their "god-like algo".
