why the search result of our web page appears like that

Today, i found a strange thing, when i do a site search:

site:www.example.com

my webpage appears info as follow:
http*//www.google.com/search?q=site:www.example.com&hl=en&newwindow=1&start=10&sa=N

why the headline of search result initial with "ÿ?lt; h t m l x m l n s = ' h t t p : / / w w w . w 3 . o r g / 1 9 ..."

When I followed the Google search url you provided, a site search for your site appeared in the search box... and yes, one of your results was titled as you described.

However, when I clicked the Google search button to do a site search for your domain, normal Google results appeared, with no spaced out w3.org title. So, your site search appears to be normal, but something is strange when using the link you provided to the Google results page.

Perhaps someone can interpret the edited version of the link and explain.

I suggest you also recheck the code of your particular page.

I've seen this kind of thing before - and it is usually a problem in the soruce code of the page. Check for a malformed <head> element in your page that might be confusing googlebot.
