traffic lower across the board due to holidays?

i have noticed 15 - 20 % fall in visitors since 12 June.

I am not sure if this is something others have also seen, if so, then the reason could be holidays.

Otherwise we will have to check some other things. However, our main keywords are at the same levels.

Yes slightly down, people are glued to the television for the World Cup for sure and holidays so it is compounded, kinda like the interest on my bank account, but much better :)

I've lost 35% of traffic (unique visitor), but the problem is not Fifa World Cup, but google.

I disappear and drop for many keywords and notice a big drop of my (site:wwww.domain.com) index.

My traffic is also about 20% down. I was thinking it was probably due to a minor algo update on about the 15th June - but maybe it is due to holidays and the world cup. It's difficult to find any specific search terms that I could definitely say have dropped beyond the normal Everflux.

Happens every year for us, generally speaking the internet is an indoor activity, and the less people are indoors the less they are looking around for things to buy. At least that’s what we tell ourselves when we go into this spring/summer slump.

To my surprise, my traffic is up. About 20%. Almost broke a record yesterday but then again my client's demographic visitors would not be interested in world cup. But I am still surprised.

With one site I see a drop in uk traffic if its a wonderfully sunny day ( its obvious when it happens as we don't really get that much sun in the UK ).

As others have said the internet is mostly an indoor activity, when it rains traffic goes up for us.

Its dependent on niche/industry though.

Not if your in the UK, this is our national sport and yes business is well affected here during this time, unless your selling football memorabillia

There is a huge Latin American population in the USA. We all know they are soccer fanatics.

Anyway, I have also noticed a drop of of 20-30% daily traffic for the last 2-3 weeks. My main reason for this is Google has only 30% pages indexed compared to about 90% 2-3 weeks ago. Most of my vstors are now coming from MSN and Yahoo. If and when Google reindexes all my pages, I have no doubt they will be my biggest referrer. Google use to give me traffic for all sorts of keywords the others just don't.

we have also seen a decline in the indexed pages on google, am not sure, why the pages are deindexed

I recently came across quite a good essay on the reliability of web-statistics. What I found most interesting was the role of caches.

My stats also went down about 20% compared to april and may. This may have seasonal reasons, but taking a closer look at the stats, I also noticed e.g. AOL-visitors absolutely on top in april but nowhere to be found in June. And I do not mean visitors coming in via AOL-search-enngine, but those using AOL as ISP.

I assume that if one of the major ISPs refreshes its cache (or refuses to do so for a long period of time), most statistics show serious hickups. Does anyone know more about this?

i dont think it to be a very big factor. we get only 7 % from aol
