Does it help to add the URL of one's site into the keyword and description meta tags?

If a site can't rank for its own domain name, then it has bigger problems than can be fixed with a meta tag.

Some businesses who are hoping to create a brand for their domain name (including the "dot com") might include the domain name in the meta description tag -- but my personal preference is still to put that limited character count area to a better use than repeating the domain name.
