Authority site changing hosts, any problems?

Does Google have problems with this?

We own a couple very large sites that have been hosted on the same ip and hosting provider for 6 years now and have really outgrown our current setup and are looking at another provider to move our servers to.

The ip ranges are clean as far as we can tell and there are several fortune 500 companies in the same datacenter. Does anyone know if changing your location after such a long time will have negative aspects in regards to Googles new algos or ranking or anything bad really at all?

I've never seen a change of host or IP affect rankings, unless there are other significant changes to the site at the same time.

I don't know why so many people think the web host has anything to do with your ranking.

If you are getting a link from CNN.com, it's still a link from CNN.com whether they are hosted on Yahoo or Verio.

Now, what would be bad most likely, is if the web site was hosted on Fortunecity or Tripod or the like, and did not have their own .com name. I would not want links from sites like that.

Changing host could be an issue for your ranking if your new host is not in the same country. No problem in google.com for a search in english, but could have an effect in local googles (for example to rank on google.fr your site would better be hosted in France).

i was also cautious about same thing, but we changed and there was not a bad but good effect :D i dont know the reason however.
