I just came accross this site, and have been reading all kinds of helpful stuff all afternoon!
Still couldn't find an answer for this tho....
Several years ago, my employers baught a site/product from someone else. However, since they didn't have any knowledge of web site development, it sat dorment... for like 3 years.
Obviously the rank slowly dropped and dropped, until $12k in yearly sales went down to $200.
Thats where I come in - Recently, I got hired to handle the site. When I was going through the whole thing, I found that the site was linking out to <an adult site>, from the links page. What I imagine is, over that time, the ORIGINAL link went out of business, and this new porn site bought the domain... and of course we sit there linking to <an adult site> and not even know it.
I'm assuming Google seen that, and I probably got my ranking adjusted in some way. (my PR is 3, but I got internal pages at 6... how odd is that).
How can I find out if my ranking is being kicked down manually because of this? Since then, the link has obviously been removed.
