Hi,

I’ve just come across this, this morning. It appeared at the bottom of the SERP’s where you would normally see the
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar

This message was placed of the 3rd page of results,

In response to a complaint we received under the “US Digital Millennium Copyright Act”, we have removed 2 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may “read the DMCA complaint” that caused the removal(s) at site.org.

I’ve placed “” around the words that were linked the first being Google’s page the second was a website where the whole DMCA was actually on line.

Good to see that these spammers are actually being removed and are being shown to the world for what they actually are.

I've come across that message off and on for several years. Google is right up front about it when they take MDCA action.

Tedster,

it was a first for me, does it only show on the page of results that they have been removed from? That appeared on the 3rd page quiet well buried, would it appear on the first result page or have you seen it on the first page, I've a few competitive SERP's that have been replaced with other pages that have ripped my content, I've never filed a DMCA in the past thinking that it would take far too much time for Google to take action, so i've always rewritten it, but i'd get some satisfaction out of having a link at the bottom of the first page of results pin pointing these websites as copy right violators.

still nice to see that the 'Gods' do take notice tho ;)

I bet the removed sites end up still getting getting traffic in many cases due to all the curious people who read the DMCA notice and go and see the 'infringing content' for themselves, assuming the host has left it up.

I have lodged complaints before and had sites removed. Google does comply but when the other site acts innocent they put them back in, a slap on the rist.
