Google's crawl team has eveolved a complex set of rules for how often to crawl and index various "types" of pages. One of the characteristics of a website that gets deep crawls is many backlinks pointing to a site that already has a strong internal linking structure. As a general rule, the more "important" your pages look to Google, the more often googlebot will come by and crawl deep into your site.

Two more things to think about:
- Do new additions to the website contain almost entirely unique content which cannot be found elsewhere on the internet?
- Do your existing pages get updated or changed? If you never change old pages then there's no benefit for you or Google in having them respidered frequently.
