Is having too many links to specific url considered spam?

For example:
Having a link from the navigation to:
www.example.com/example.html

From body paragragh wich is on the same page to:
www.example.com/example.html

From footer to:
www.example.com/example.html

All linking to the same page over and over again, could that be a problem?

I recently found that you could get to the same end product on one of my sites 5 ways, i have just changed it so all urls are now the same. If i see a change I will let you now.same

One point all the final page that I have and I have over 14,000 have never been indexed by Google and I have over 50,000 visits a month from Google but the final product pages are 3 levels down and my home page is only a pr 4

It's not a problem with google. I have been doing this from our index page for years and no problems. I push our ecommerce area this way.
I still have front page results on google and yahoo. msn is a whole other issue but you posted this in google forum so nope go for it as long as it "makes sense to your visitors".

Another point I forgot, get incoming links from other sites direct to your page in question too.

I haven't done any specific testing on this but my guess is that it doesn't really affect things one way or another.

Imagine the sitemap page that is contained in the skin with nav links, any nav link would presumably also appear in the sitemap listing and so right away sitemaps are bound to have at least 2 links for several pages.

Just wondering if approximately linked 5 times from the home page could be a problem? Is their a limit to how many links you should stick to?

my impression was that google would only count it as one link, the other repetitions would be ignored.

Often inner pages of a site each link back to the homepage twice. Once in the logo and another time in the navigation.

I sure hope I am right. I'd hate to have to go through all my navigation and make it less user friendly.

Does that many links really help your visitors?

It seems excessive. I have no idea whether it would trip a filter, and wouldn't like to try to find out...
