About 3 months ago, I changed a clients domain name from .co.uk to .com due to moving to the USA.

I first started building links to the new domain and requested that links to the existing domain be changed. After building up links we then used a 301 redirect to let Google know that the old domain is no longer in use and the new domain should be used from now on.

As expected the old domain was dropped from the SERP's and the new domain was no where to be found. After 2 months the new domain appeared in great positions, but after 2 or 3 days, the results dissappeared again.

This is when I thought that perhaps the sandbox had got us.

It's been about a month since we dissappered and last week we reappeared in the SERP's again. So far we've been back for 4 days, and I'm hoping this time we'll stay for good.

We are back in similar positions we had before the change, which makes me feel more secure that we'll be staying for awhile.
