I was wondering on the different time frames people see when you make a change to your page for that change to take effect in the SERPs.

From what I have seen so far, the cache is update quickly, while the SERPs seem to be about 3 weeks behind.

Is this in line with what others here have noticed?

It's highly inconsistent. Some sites just can't shake obsolete listings.

Good example: our local school system switched from a .us to a .net address several months ago. Google still returns the .us - which gives a 404 error - for the top listing.

If Google can't get the public school system for a major city right, what hope does your widget factory have?

It varies. I changed the content of a page late one night a few weeks ago, and Google spidered it 20 minutes later.

The title and snippet for that page changed in the SERPs about 20 hours later, but the cache didn't update with the new content for nearly a week.

In other datacentres the cache updated but the title and snippet did not. There is no sense to what is happening right now. It is a mystery.
