keyword phraseology in page titles

how to structure titles to best advantage?

I'd like to know if anyone can help me with constructing title tags. I'd like to know how Google perceives these. I.e. as a string of text discounting punctuation marks or repeating words, or quite simply how to structure title tags to the best (white hat naturally) advantage

I suggest that you do a site search on WebmasterWorld for title tags and title element, among other terms, and do a lot of reading.

Though many say "title tag," btw, the correct usage, as noted in one of the threads above, is "title element."
