Listed USING API tool but not showing in rankings?

I recently launched 2 sites and google picked them both up through links. I am listed as #4 and #14 respectively using the API tool at <edited>but I cannot see myself in the actual listings?

Using www, www2 and www3 I have sometimes seen the sites listed but I am consistently ranked according to the API tool.

Can anyone throw any light?
