I registered a domain back in Mar, and didn't touch it for a few months, last weekend, I finished the development of this site.. I setup a googlemap and submitted it to google..

When I log into google site maps, I can see my sitemap, the status is ok, and the sitemap has been downloaded by google a few times..

However when I search for my site on google I get a result, but under the description its still the default description when my host creates a new domain for me.

When I check the Diagnostic tab in Google Sitemaps it also says:

Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Mar 22.

Am I just being impatient? I'm new to doing seo optimization and what not... I figured when it checked the sitemap it would re-index my site?

Maybe I need to wait 2-3 weeks?

Yeah, wait a couple weeks. The fact that you didn't update it for a long period of time probably made the bot think there was no reason to come back.

Yea I've been building a blog which is on topic for this commercial site....

My blog has been listed a few places including digg, as well I've posted my site on a large wiki which allows for advertisers to post their commercial products... so I did this as well.

Even yahoo lists me as 5 for a specific keyword... which was good, but no google..

Google hates me lol...

I'll be patient, thanks.

My problem is similar, but I'm still hoping for a step in the right direction. I'm attempting to optimize a couple of sites ATM, and after almost 2 months w/o a bot visit GB stopped by on the 8th. The site was completely new and yet when I run a "site:www.mydomain.com" I only see 2 pages indexed. I've personally created over 20 new pages and submitted a site map, but still Google either refuses to acknowledge the new pages, or can't hit them. suggestions?

Thanks
