Hello,

Does it hurt or help to change the Text of any URL often while the link being the same?

I was thinking that this way i could probably squeeze in a few more keywords...

I want to keep the link text keywords as relevant as possible to the content it links to. only that i want to change the keywords on every refresh...

Some such examples would be:

blue widgets
cool blue widgets
new blue widgets

again, the link for all of them would be the same. Also, they would appear on each refresh.

Any thoughts on this?

Keep things simple.

Try to avoid confusing human visitors - and search engines.

Much better to add new, extra content that fiddle about with what you have.

Focus on the site more, and the search engines less. Usually works.

Yes, I agree... New content is always good and we do that regularly...

but the idea is not to confuse the user since different keywords would basically meaning the same thing.

Change always has the potential to confuse.

From a SE POV, the site is different; so whatever data it has picked up to rank in your favor, it has to throw out of the window.

SEs are simple souls; help them to help you, don't play games that can only hurt your rankings.

Change always has the potential to confuse.

I strongly agree with Quadrille, who stated it very well.

It's not like the engine is going to remember: "Oh, that used to be called 'widgets' and now it's called 'gizmos,' so it must be both."

The engine is just going to start over, very possibly setting some of the time factors in your algo score back to zero.
