Sudden huge drop in traffic

Since a couple of weeks, I have been getting almost no traffic from google. Used to get thousands of visits per day and now I get hundreds or less than hundred!

I don't know what to tell you or what to expect, but I'm doomed for sure now. No money for bills and things just don't look bright.

How can traffic disapear like that? Has Google done something weird recently?

Some may argue that Google is always doing something weird but particularly since BigDaddy was launched. Read thru the top 20 threads and you may get a clue as to what has happened to your site.
I would imagine a great number of your backlinks have been devalued.

Yes, google has gone out of its mind once again.

I wonder what google considered top ranking in last 5 years can now be considered trash and google kills it virtually from its database?

This is not the story of one site, but thousands , may be millions. I personally know authority sites, newspaper sites, daily updates review sites have been shown the exit door by google in last 2 - 3 weeks.

1) What kind of site is it? Is there any possibility that boilerplate affiliate pages, DMOZ clone pages, etc. have run afoul of a duplicate-content filter?

2) Have you read previous threads here about canonical problems? (You may have been hit by the infamous www-vs.-non-www duplicate URL problem. That happened to me in spring of 2005, when I lost 70-90% of my Google referral for two months. The problem was solved with changes to my .htaccess file.)

Does anyone ever wonder if there is favoritism occurring here? Ever wonder if larger corporations or even big spenders with Adwords get more favorable positioning in their SERP's? When I do a search in my niche on Google for my top term with the highest traffic, all I see are the large corporations in the top 10 with maybe one small affiliate guy at number 8. I don't know how he does it , but he could write a book on it I'm sure!

I do not wish to sound rude, not answering your questions about me talking about my site, but I am now pretty sure that it has to do with the Big Daddy update. :-(

Question remains: What can we do? I sen't many e-mails to Google but they don't respond.

Why do you hide info about your page? We are not asking for the url, just details so we can make suggestions that have worked for others.

I suspect you have an affiliate page.

I have one site that has climbed in the last few weeks in the serps, but traffic has dropped by about a third. I think that some of the dc's with the good results aren't being allowed to come out and play as much.

We have an online retail presence and have seen over the last 3-4 weeks a considerable drop in G referrals (almost a linear downward trend by about 20-30%).

The same trend appears in AdWords activity (impressions and clicks) as well. So I guess I pay less for less.

Maybe everybody is off for summer vacation and the whole internet retail business is off?

Previous years have generally trended up month to month.

Maybe G is seeing similar loss in revenue? OR.. maybe because they're favoring the big monster and corporate sites, they're actually seeing an increase in revenue? Sure would be great to know what's happening within G and if they're seeing an across the board drop in search activity, AdWords, etc etc.

I have a site that in the space of two months has has 35,000 pages indexed.. a few weeks later dropped to under 500... a few weeks later up over 42,000 pages indexed... a few weeks later dropped again to 800 pages indexed... a few weeks later up over 12,000 pages indexed now this week down to 800 pages in the index. I HAVE NO IDEA what GOOGLE is doing. My traffic is all over the place. I recieved a messages a month ago from BOSTON PUB CON that said my site has no penalty. I am done trying to figure it out.
