Headache of no index yet.

Could my domain be sandboxed?

I've setup a new site and I'm waiting for google to index it, i've thrown links on other sites, that are already being searched by google, a few diggs here and there and they've appeared in google search.

However the site it self hasn't.

I'm sitting here thinkin will it? can it? or has the domain been banned from Google before I bought it?

I recently noticed it expired august 2007 and I've noticed old results for the domain on yahoo...

/tiki-wiki_rss.php?ver=2
/tiki-forums_rss.php?ver=2
/tiki-articles_rss.php?ver=2
/tiki-blogs_rss.php?ver=2
/styles/transitions/1.8to1.9.css
/lib/phplayers/layerstreemenu.css

now looking at these page results Yahoo have cached it appears to be some kind of script called Tiki they had used previously.

I hope this is not a bad thing?

solidcore - Do you mean by this that the site itself hasn't yet appeared in the index, or that it isn't ranking?

To see if the page is in the index, search for an exact text string (in quotes) from one of the pages that you've linked to. You can also try the site:domain operator, albeit that has been known to be buggy.

Ranking is a different matter, and can take a while to develop. I recommend looking in the Hot Topics thread, pinned to the top of the Google Search forum home page, and reading the "sandbox" thread...

Filters exist - the Sandbox doesn't. How to build Trust.

It takes a while to build the "trust" required to rank on certain terms. Beyond that, there are the factors of relevance and of competitive ranking.

PS - To touch on your question about the script and the old site, very occasionally scripts are associated with commonly used spam schemes and may draw attention to a site. I don't know the specific script you mention, but it's extremely unlikely that a script used on a previous site would be the cause of a new site not ranking.

Check the old site in the WayBack Machine to see what kind of site it was, and whether the old site was of the sort that might have gotten penalized. Also, look at old backlinks in Yahoo Site Explorer and see where they come from.

Thanks the problem is that there is no index of my site on google, not the domain or anything, I've been waiting days.

I checked WayBack Machine and it appears only to have a cache of an empty directory with a temp folder.

I don't think the previous author even had a site or anything interesting for any search engine to really show up anything worth indexing previously.

Is it possible im in a level 2 sandbox where as the type of site is unwanted?

I've been waiting days

It can take a couple weeks, and even then full indexing of a new site can take a few months - and good ranking taking even longer. Things get better as backlinks to your site on other domains get indexed.

Thanks ted, very relieving, I already run a site that makes me 200$ per day on the net I'm just desperate to get my new site up so I can make money from google traffic , a new area for me.

Do the serps for your one indexed listing offer a link to "repeat the search with the omitted results included."?

If not, then fine. Just wait it out.

If yes, they'll probably stay that way forever. It can look like a slow indexing problem, but actually its trouble in your pages. You can find the fix here, look for threads on titles and meta desc tag problems.

Hey thanks, I've just noticed a few more results have appeared,

I now have:

site root
- extra page result

when typing in the domain name in google.

However, like you said the rest of the page results are omitted, i assume this is normal for typing in the domain?

I've now made the site 100% W3c Verified, now I'm hoping all these changes will help google scan my pages with less error and more efficiently a larger index will appear.

Well good news guys, the index process is occouring, I now have 17 pages indexed, and most of them are rank 30-80 of their subject on googles pages (3-10) for the keywords people will be looking for.

I'd like to thank the moderators for the piece of mind they have brought me.

I'm now praying that all of my 600+ pages will find an index and rank 1-20 will occour for them in time eventualy.

Your the best guys!
