Google services down here in Indonesia

it's when you can't access it you realise just how much you count on it

For the last three hours here (Indonesia - GMT+7) Google, Gmail, Blogger, Adsense, Analytics, Adwords, Webmaster Tools and I assume the rest have all been offline.

It's only when these services are down you realise just how much one (and one's site -- think analytics, adsense, customised search, oh and traffic!) relies on it...

I trust you're back up with Google by now - I can appreciate how you must have felt. My feelings about my own Google dependency are quite ambivalent. I'm so thankful for many, many good things that come from Google. And I'm also freaking out in the background about the possibility it might all fall away.

Yes it came up about 5 minutes after I made that post funnily enough. But yes, it's only when it's taken away you realise how reliance-creep can set in.
