When I put my domain in Google search in this format-

www.mysite.com

it says "Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.mysite.com"

But when I put in Google search-

site:www.mysite.com

It lists over 900 pages. Does this mean I am banned? My site has been online since 2001 with many quality inbound links.

Have you tried checking URL's other than the index/default page?

If you search www.example.com, I believe it will just show whether the "home" page is listed. If you search site:www.example.com, it will give you all the listed pages on the site. Maybe you've just lost your index page?

I might be wrong on this, but try a search of www.example.com/other-page.htm and see what it shows.

Thanks, I just checked again and my index page now shows a cache of 5/20/06 [yesterday] so they have apparently started spidering again. All the internal pages have much older caches by comparison [March, April].

Still when I do a site:www.mysite.com search the index page isn't the top result but third, at least it's an improvement over yesterday.

Try it on different datacentres, by direct IP access.

You might find different results on some others.
