Big Daddy and new content

are your new pages getting indexed?

I lost several dozen revenue pages during the Big Daddy update/mess, and they haven't come back yet. Its made me wonder wether adding new content is worth the time, or would it be better to wait until the Google index returns to normal --if it ever will.

I know, Yahoo and MSN are adding new pages, but G's traffic is such a big factor for my AS business that I'm not that concerned about the others. (Well, okay, I have to work on that over-dependancy.)

I've noticed this: in the directories/sites struck by Big Daddy, my new pages are not getting added to the index. In directories/sites that did lose indexing to Big Daddy, my new content is getting spidered and added in 3-4 days, which is pretty good.

Does anyone else have a view or twist on this issue?

if it ever will

so why wait, dont let G dictate to you, they got where they are by serving OUR content, its not you thats broken, G is currently knackered.

Many of us are STILL WAITING for pages to return, let me guess, your affected sites/missing pages maybe no older than October 2005.

One site gets new content in quick (I think G regards it as an 'authorityish' site, possibly)

All the rest are a waste of time, no indexing, lost pages etc.
This is the first time any of my sites have ever been affected by any Google change or update.
I do think G is broken!

Many of us are STILL WAITING for pages to return

Since starting this post, I've been doing some research, and I don't think those missing pages will ever return, if we do nothing except wait. It's a change in spidering priorities and tighter values on linking, and I'll bet it's here to stay.

This is NOT one of those weird updates that gets rolled back after 2 weeks and everything returns to as it used to be.

To say Google is broken is useless except to vent some frustration. G bashing does nothing to rebuild lost business.

IMHO, there is a clear strategy to get those lost pages back in the index. I'm going to try my best effort in one directory (I lost pages in about a dozen directories) and watch what happens over the next 30 days.

Yes, new content is getting indexed fairly quickly.

Tip: I've also found that by putting some of the "missing" pages on my front page for a few days, they are slowly being re-added to the index. Once they're back, I put a couple of different ones up. Obviously this tactic won't look right for some sites, but it's working (at the moment!) for me.
