Hi,

wasnt sure if this is the right place to post this so my appologies if its in the wrong place.

Heres the thing, my site that i have made modifications too in the title, and meta description has been indexed a couple of times since i made the changes. However if i run a search through google and find my site in the organic listings it still display the old title and meta description.

anybody know why this is?..is google just having a bad hair day or is it something im missing? Kinda newbie ish to all the seo stuff and trying things out at the moment so dont want to think something works in a way that it doesnt if you get me.

anyway thanks for any responses in advance.

Hello adrian, and welcome to the forums.

There are two separate steps - spidering and indexing. Several people here have noticed that even though Google is spidering right now, the new content seems slow to get indexed... even stuck. My assumption is that Google is using more of their back end computing power than usual in preparing a major change of some kind. This has happened before around the US Labor Day.

Sometimes the old version continues to be listed as a Supplemental Result, while the new version shows as a normal result.

Now that Google no longer shows the "Supplemental Result" tag in the SERPs, this type of result is much harder to figure out.

this is not at all unusual right now. Google is spidering constantly but not actually indexing a lot of our new content.
