Is Google broken? It's just history repeating itself

with all this talk on the forum about Google dropping pages like flies, and returning poor results, i'd thought i'd have a look back through the years to see if problems like this have happened before.

type
google broken
into google.com, and the first page will return results from 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, all saying basically the same thing that we have been saying on here for the past month.
it's seems that stuff like this is a regular occurence. everyone worries about for a month or two, but it soon gets fixed. and then it will break a year later and we'll all start worrying again.
it's been happening for on and off for 4 years now, so i presume it's just a natural part of the process and just something we will have to get used to.

but does this happen to yahoo? and msn? (i know msn is quite new)

on a sidenote... i have actually started to feel a little bit sorry for google, after stumbling across all their legal nightmares on this site: #*$!edgoogle.com
