i have two sites, one of which is quite older.
The second and younger site uses pictures from the first and older one.
The source of the images of the second site is something like:
http://www.first-site.com/images/photo1.jpg
http://www.first-site.com/images/photo2.jpg
The url of the second site is something like:
http://www.second-site.com
So the source of all the pictures is totally different from the domain url.
The pictures rank very highly on google image search, but with the source from the first site, as shown above!
What is the best way to change the source of the images? Make it something like
http://www.second-site.com/images/photo1.jpg
http://www.second-site.com/images/photo2.jpg
which is much better.
PS. Creating new source paths will probably make the photos lose their good positions in google image search, as google will consider them totally new.

[edit reason] de-link the example urls [/edit]
Technically, all you need to do is put copies of those image files in the correct location on your second site. But I doubt you can have it both ways - you can't move the file source away from the first domain and keep all its rankings.
The images on both sites have the same source path, which is from the first site.
The first site will remain as it is.No changes.
I want to change the source of the images of the second site.Exactly, as you said, copy the images from the first site and put them in a folder inside the second site.
Until now the images played very well in google image search. BUT... the images were on pages on the second site, but their source was from the first site.
For example, the images were on this page
[second-site.com...]
But their source was
[first-site.com...]
[first-site.com...]
I want to change this to:
[second-site.com...]
[second-site.com...]
Do you think this will affect their ranking in google?
(The images will be considered totally new, because of their totally new source path)?
thank you.
