How did this site take 2nd place on google (organic)

After doing a routine check on my major keywords this morning to see if anything listing-wise had change I noticed that one of our competitors sites had suddenley appeared at position 2. Its a fairly new site (perhaps 2 months old) with a page rank of zero. I've checked on yahoos site explorer and it only has 130 back links mainly from directories etc.

How can this be!?!?!?! nowhere to second in a few months, with bairly any backlinks and a page rank of 0?

Anyone got any thoughts?

No, without specifics it's really tough to determine...

But how do you know what the PR is?
The TBPR might say 0, but it is in no way any indication of the real PR of the page.

I would really not think about the PR anymore, I see many low PR sites rank good.
