I am doing SEO work and am getting an error when trying to verify URL that was created.
URL has been created in root directory and page displays when clicking on link in Google Webmaster Tools.
But I continually get the error:
Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Our system has experienced a temporary problem.
I do not have http:/// appearing in dashboard.
I can not figure out why this problem would be happening and can not get in contact with anyone from Google.
Please help

Right now, Google is not allocating their computing resources in a typical fashion, and many reporting functions seem to be swirling around in a dervish dance.
The error message does say that "our system has experienced a temporary problem", and not "your system." I would take them at their word and be patient, unless you see a problem with rapidly falling Google traffic.
