Hello all ,

I am frustrated but i will try to explain my problem:

I have a wordpress blog with 3000 unique daily visitors.

Before 10 days i installed 2 plugins in my blog:

1. All in One SEO Pack
2. meta tags

In the last 10 days i noticed a retreat in my daily visitors:

3000 > 2500 > 2000 > 1500 > 1400

Then i got worried and tried to check what is the problem.

After a siple examination i noticed many links in my site dropped dramatically , from the page 1 to the page 56!

My page rank stills (4).

I also noticed yesterday that the page titles (which can seen above in the browser)disappeared.

Today i deleted these plugins. I got my page titles back , but my links in google still away in the page 56.

I am frustrated , i checked the statics in my blog , it looks my visitors today will be 1000!

From 3000 to 1000 through 6-7 days. Never happened to me.

70% of my visitors come from google.

I am being working hard in my site for 3 years. Is it the end? should prepare a funeral to my site?

Thanks.

I'd guess that the SEO plug-in made significnt changes across your site and Google will need time to re-evaluate everything. Large scale changes can often have that effect.

The disappearance of the title element is often a sign of new spidering that is not yet complete. So I'd advise you not schedule a funeral for your site any time soon.

this reminds me that I want to perform a complete makeover of the URL structure on a couple of site...it became almost impossible to manage with the current urls.

tedster >> do you recommend slow changes then? when possible of course - even with 301 everywhere?

Thanks tedster.

1. How many time do you think it takes google to reevaluate my site?

2. What do you suggest to do meanwhile? just to wait?

3. Is there a method to check if my links are going up again?

4. Will my links advance from page 56 > 55 > 54 ... or it will returns to its normal situation all at once according to the PR ?

Sorry about my panic questions , but this issue disturbs me a lot.

I can't sleep.

Thanks again.

I had the same issue with that plugin some months ago. Had to check each article manually because the plugin would not use the custom meta description I was using for each post before I installed the plugin.

I gained my position back in less than 2-3 weeks.

Good luck with yours

Agama: It is nice to hear you got your real rank again.

Can you explain please how to check each article manually?

Thanks.

The SEO All In One Pack plugin tries to avoid duplicate content by adding:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow" />

...on the monthly archive and category pages. So if that option was enabled and it was those pages that were previously ranking well and driving traffic to your site - that'd explain your pages being dropped and the traffic hit you've taken.

Sit back and wait. :-)

Now everything is back after uninstalling this plugin (seo all in one).

Google spiders are making their job now.

It was suspenseful experience!

What did you hope to gain with the plugin? It sounds to me like your right back where you started correct?

I have installed this plugin on several of our blogs and we are just waiting now to see how google treats the new page information - looks good so far! Is anyone else using this plugin with good results?

I installed it on a new site 2 months ago and all I can add is that it was a brand new domain, hit Google quickly and has maintained good rankings constantly for the past 2 months - not even any sandbox issues - so I rate it personally, although you need to be careful how it's configured IMO.
