I'm starting a new website, but I have to add many content (50.000 pages) at the same time...
Now I'm scared to get a penalty from Google... What can I do to prevent a google penalty?

Try releasing them gradually, but in general there is no penalty. Prepare for the supplemental index which will hit you hard with this number of pages.

You won't get a penalty. Most problems that people who add a lot of pages at once appear to be about PageRank distribution. As has been said, you can only go so wide or so deep.

Matt Cutts has talked about this a few months ago.
Hundreds, maybe thousands, of pages should be OK.
Hundreds of thousands, or even millions, may not.

Is there any way to avoid the supplemental index? It's a hotelsite, so every hotel must be on it...

No, there is no way to avoid the supplemental index. Even with high PR you will see most of your pages suffering the supplemental hell.

And what if there's unique content at a few thousand of these pages?

This won't help.

If it's a hotel site you're probably going to be in the supplemental index or even filtered out due to duplicate content. Unless of course you have your own unique list of hotels that aren't already listed somewhere on the internet.

Also, make sure that if possible you use static urls if you want them to be spidered and logged; also remember to make the new pages be easily navigable from your key entry points so the spider has an easy time finding them
