Outgoing links from my site that lower my PR.

am I free to use "nofollow" wherever I want?

I have a question, I'm using blogger blog and since my PR is 5 or so, and my thematics is posting new outgoing links often, how can I mask them so they don't leech my PR?

can i add rel="nofollow" to any of my outgoing links I want? is it bad for SE (detecting it and lowering my PR)

is there some other way to put outgoing links like:

mywebsiter.com/outgoing link1 mask.html

or?

please advise me how to protect my PR

Do not worry about PR, link when required.

You don't 'lose' PR by linking out. It does slightly weaken the PR passed to your internal post pages.

Since you have a blog that posts a lot of links it seems strange that you want to mask those links! Either stop posting links or stop the blog.

I'm posting links, but include "nofollow" tag inside them so visitors and google can click the link and see the site (and notice no difference) but so my PR isn't given to many link outs I post.

Am I right in doing so?

If you linked to me with a nofollow I might link back the same way, or even more likely not link back at all.

If the site you’re linking to is really relevant and worthwhile treat the link as such.

No. It accomplishes nothing. If you don't want a link to effect how much PR you have at your disposable either javascript the link or don't link.

Did we miss the point? Poster is not talking about link exchnages, just links. Want to link to sites, but not lsoe pr. Well, if the purpose of the links is not to get a link exchange, but to actually link to a recommended site, seems fine to me.

I do it, one of my client's cms's is set up to automatically do a rel=nofollow to all esternal links OTHER than those in link excahnges.

setting nofollow to link exchange would result no result... I'm not talking in link exchange,

but about my posts where I put jump to this funny site etc. so I was thinking on putting nofollow, but if I use it too often is it bad?

I've never understood 'PR hoarders'. The web was built on linking. Google was built on analysing links. I wonder if the attitude towards money is the same - concentrating on not spending money rather than making more of it.

There is no evidence that 'nofollow' affects PR calculations - in other words it is likely that Google takes your page's PR, divides by the number of links and calculates the amount of 'goodness' to pass on. It then removes any nofollow links.

Who you link to is almost certainly taken into account by Google (related sites/Adsense certainly uses it to categorise a page). Maybe nofollow links will do you more harm than good because ranking is not very dependent on PR anymore. A page with a lot of nofollow links is also a bit like saying 'don't trust me' because I'm just pointing at untrusted pages.

Look, forget PR hoarding and start looking at something useful. Have a look at the template you are using. Does every post have it's own page? When you click on the title of a post on your main page or archive page does it take you to that post on it's own page? By default most Blogger templates don't and just have the 10 most recent posts and a few archive pages. You can change that and do yourself some real good.

I put every of my posts link to my sidebar (home-made categories) so i Have my sidebar with more than hundred post links... maybe that is also spreading my PR, but boosting PR of my sepereate pages all to PR6 (estimated by iwebtool)
