Hi all,

One of my subdomains is now ranking well on Google, lets say #4, and the domain ranks #8.

Will Google see it as spam?

Thanks

P/S: My aim to use subdomain is that visitors will get to the right landing page instead of domain+ 1 more click.

Thank you, New SEO, the content is 100% different, the domain is < about a general category >, the subdomain is < about a very specific sub-topic >.

Thanks.

Yep, thank you very much, but any clue that it will be alright? because it seems to me that my competitors will report it to Google, and what happens if I have 10 subdomains and all will rank well for the same keyword? LOL.

PS: I do hope that you are right then.

No no,don't do that.one is perfect,by so many number of sub domains you are fighting with yourself, isn't it?:)
because it seems to me that my competitors will report it to Google,
I think, they will not do that.it is not unethical.

This is my pet hate...

The leader in my industry has about 12 sub domains, each an affiliate. The main domain and one or two of the sub domains always appear in the top ten for my key phrases.

The content is the same but it’s styled differently.

This really frustrates me because it's as if they get a second bite of the apple.

Well, lakr's content is apparently quite different between the domain and the subdomain - so he's safe from your pet hate, I guess. Also safe from being caugght in a problem with Google in the future, as long as he doesn't grab too much page 1 territory.

Yes, for being safer, I have deleted the keywords on domain's title (those are duplicate with Subdomain) in order to lower its ranking.

Thank you all for your help.

Have nice weekend.

P/S: I do not mean to get more bite of the apple, just let visitors get to the right place to improve the conversion rate.

Is that statement not contradicting itself? You’re presuming that your site is the best place for the customer. Would Google give the end user a better user experience if they had 10 separate websites on the 1st page?
