Indexing of my site stalled

I mentioned this in a thread a few weeks ago, but didn't get a reply.

My site went public on May 25th. Within a few weeks, Google had indexed 47 of the 63 pages on the site.

Since then, I've added more pages. Google got up to having 63 pages in the index last month. For the past three or so weeks, though, it's been stalled at 73 pages, even though I've added more pages, and have gotten links to those new pages.

I've seen Google move fast, and I've seen them move slow. But I've never seen the indexing just stall.

Any ideas as to what's going on? Any similar experiences?

Yes, I helped launch a smallish website on June 1 and saw a similar pattern. Just this week we saw more pages get indexed, but it had stalled out at 72 out of 110 pages for about 4 weeks.

I'm short on explanations, except to guess that backend resources were being used by Google in other ways, and diverted from "low priority" indexing. I've seen things like this in the past - a flurry of indexing followed by a relatively quiet cycle, and so on.
