Apparent info:search contradictions

An info:search gives me the "Sorry, no information is available for the URL www." message but the "pages from the site" button returns "Results 1 - 10 of about 278' with the home page sitting on top.

Stranger still there's two sites from the one small design house that return those odd results on both G.ie and G.co.uk.

They're not banned and are indexed, so any ideas on what might be causing the "Sorry, no information..."?

I've seen this happen several times - unless there's a ranking/traffic problem, I assume it's a back end bug at Google. I take the message literally -- "no information is available" to the info: operator. That doesn't mean the information doesn't exist. With a back end the size of Google's, stuff breaks all the time.

As you say no big deal, usually some kind of bug.

What IS unusual is that two sites from the same small web developer would both show similar messages.

I'm just wondering if it's more than a coincidence....

To spin my wheels here...

This might indicate something about Google's database architecture, which might have a common point of failure for, say, "similar" sites (which is most likely where two sites from the same company might intersect).

I have no idea, really, what that architecture might be. Something in the back of my head fantasizes a marker for common hosting or common links gone awry, but I can't attach any logical structure to the thought. ;)

As you imply RC, it's a coincidence that merits investigation.

Never seen that message without it having a fairly clear rationale....
