Will Google see links from regional government websites as valuable as .gov?
For example:
example.gov.cn, example.gov.uk VS example.gov?
Thank you,

I am a bit of a maverick on this. I think that the file extension itself means very little if anything - not even when it's .edu or .gov. If the site is a strong site with great backlnks, then it's trusted by Google and its outbound linking is valuable. But it's not like the PR transfer get's doubled or anything like that.

It is pretty academic as your location determines what government organisations link to you.
Personally I seek links from sites that will drive traffic in their own right, not for some potential kudos with Google.

You are right, but I think for better ranking in Google some kudos are really helpful.
