Does linking to a page deep inside the site such as www.example.com/widgets.htm also improve the PR of the TLD of www.example.com. I know the idea is to spread link juice through out the site, but does it also apply to the top level?
For example, a link to www.example.com is worth 5 points, would a link to www.example.com/widgets.htm be worth 5 points and maybe add an extra point to www.example.com so that a link pointing to www.example.com is totaled at 6? Bear with me as I am not sure how it is calculated, but using my limited vocabulary to give an example, heeh.
Hope everyone is having/had a good weekend.

Page rank will flow in every direction throughout your site. Up, down, sideways, you name it.

If you get links to internal pages, your home page will also get some boost from that, as long as your link structure creates a path for the PR to flow.
