Almost There - recovering lost rankings

We had very many ups and downs with Google..

In the beginning stages of our new redesigned site, most of our pages where in supplemental results..

We worked hard on getting them out of supplemental and luckily we have succeeded.

We have put in a lot of efforts in obtaining back links, some of them where paid links. We got real high rankings in Google and we where doing great.

After couple of weeks, Google banned our listings due to the paid links and most of our popular keywords went all the way down..

Despair has taken it’s role and we stopped SEO..

Guess what? We are back up again..

We even have some major keywords listed on Page 1, 2 and 3..

Exited to the comeback, we are thrilled to start working up our keywords again..

But, I don't want to take wrong steps again and get penalized again.

I would need some suggestions on how we get back up legitimately.

We want to take baby steps only..Being cautious would only be a great advantage to us and help us succeed, hopefully permanately..We don't want to take giant steps, get great rankings, and then crash all the way down again..

So, please be so kind drop in your advise, your experiences, your knowledge..

Our most successful website (over a million visitors monthly) is run by a woman who is not a "tech" person but a writer. There is zero SEO (she does not even know what it is and has never visited a website like this one) and everything is for the user. Google loves this website and so do all other search engines; obviously, visitors love it too.

You cannot get your site banned from purchased links. Your drop in ranking might be a culmination of devalued links.

Do you link out to relevant, resourceful material much? Help the end user, thats the name of the game today.

Create sticky devices that attract the linkerati.
