Incomplete indexing of key pages in subdomain?

Let's say there's a site called widgets.com with the following traits:

- Widgets.com has a PR of 7 and is an authority site for widgets
- Subdomain of subdomain.widgets.com has a PR of 6 and is linked to from every page on widgets.com. It's been around for 5+ years.
- Subdomain has say 100+ backlinks to that subdomain from decent sources
- Meta header and body content are unique to the site

Yet this page and its < 5 daughter pages are in the supplemental results for Google (and Yahoo). The content of the pages isn't indexed. Widgets.com has far less popular pages that are indexed and rank well for their primary keywords.

This is a bit perplexing. If I cut and paste some page content of subdomain.wdigets.com into Google or Yahoo, I do get two proxy servers (one for each SE) as the top result as they have the duplicate content.

We can implement a workaround for this as noted in the ongoing proxy hijacking thread here, but if this isn't the problem, are there any suggestions as to what else could be going on?

Thanks,

Steve

Meta header and body content are unique to the site

Are the title and meta description unique to each URL on the subdomain? Or is it the same one across all the pages?

The title and meta description are unique for each page on the subdomain.
