Subdomains And The So Called Sandbox

Will a subdomain running off a strong authority domain be subject to time in the sandbox if you trip a link filter or similar? Do they enjoy the same honeymoon staus and then fall away like any other new site? Say if Wiki were to hang off a new subdomain tomorrow and then it gets linked up is it going straight to the top of the charts for a couple of weeks before getting a "rest" period.

In my opinion and experience, there is no sandbox for subdomain. I have set up a subdomain, it ranks well just in the first week, and with internal linking only. So it depends on how competitive the niche you are on.

I also have one question:

example.blogspot.com VS example.apple.com

I wonder whether example.blogspot.com will rank higher than example.apple.com (on computer topic)for the computer-related keywords?
