Does anyone suspect that putting Google Analytics on a site will increase its rankings in the Google search engine?

Yes it will, BUT not how you're thinking, it will provide you data to create extra pages to target the longtails that come in.

But then, any stats software would do that, if analytics is all you can get then try it.

I believe google will use data from Analytics to rank sites.

If your site has terrible traffic stats (bounce rate, # of pageviews, time on site), providing Google with more detailed info thru Google analytics would be very risky, IMO.

Likewise, if a site's traffic stats are better than average, wouldn't it help to let Google know as much as possible? I don't believe they would just ignore such a useful source of data for ranking.

MC commented lately that he does not feel like it will improve ranking.

I have sites that ranked great before I ever put Analytics on them, and I have sites that can't get arrested with or without Analytics on them, so I haven't seen anything (across 60+ sites) that I can pin on a connection between Analytics and ranking.

(other than the modifications I might make to the site after I look at what Analytics is telling me)

Analytics (and probably Adsense) don't seem to supercede IBL spike. I had the highest traffic ever (85000 visitors a day), lowest bounce rate and 60% return visitors when I got hit.

I doubt it, however if you're an idiot like me, and tell them all the sites you own under one single profile, you're links will probably get devalued between the sites.... which, at one time, were really good links. hahahah

I wouldnt have the connection between ranking etc I would imagine that they intend to charge for it at some time while building a clientbase
