Home is cached about once/week, but "news" blog every few days

I just wanted to ask if anyone else was experiencing such a thing. To be honest this isn't quantitative research just something I've noticed over the last couple of weeks.

Would you consider this normal behaviour?

i noticed that at my site and i assume this is because my new blog post are pinged.
