We have an interesting problem. We have a .com domain registered in the uk with uk domain servers and hosted in the USA. It's been this way for the past 4 years. It has always been returned in the "pages from the uk results" it's a uk company's site and a largely uk user base. In the last month this site and another one have dropped from the uk results and we are unsure why.

initially I thought it was down to the fact that the whois information was nolonger being displayed in the same manner, no address and nameservers shown. But another domain we have is suffering from the same problem and it is with a different registrar and does display this info.

I have read articles with people having this problem hosting .com domains int the uk and still being dropped.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? What would happen if we mapped the .co.uk of the domain to the .com address, so 2 identical sites. I know in general this is a really bad idea, but in this scenario would it be worthwhile to get back on the results?

Any ideas welcomed.

Cheers,

Toby

This whole area of country-specific searches seems to be a bit munged up recently. I think you're getting no input here because the situation is pretty cloudy.
