Is the fact that he is storing a database of lyrics a problem, in that it has near identical content in comparison to other lyrics sites? His content would probably be identical to the content of any other lyrics site
I took a couple random songs and searched the net for their lyrics and found many sites with the exact or nearly exact same text. However, their pages were up in the regular index, this persons is not.
His site is currently page rank 2 with 1500 pages indexed almost all in supplemental results.
I've read other posts that suggest that supplemental results can occur on templated pages because the pages all look the same and there is not enough changing text to make google think the pages are different. Lyrics text tend to be short. Less than 200 words probably.
Is that fact that his content is duplication of other content bad? It is as good as getting a datafeed from some well known site. I've seen sites use datafeeds for content and they are not in supplemental. Can this problem be solved by increasing the pagerank of the site from 2 to 4 or 5?
Any insight would be helpful
