Can't see my backlinks using Google's link: operator

Hi, am completely new in SEO, so my knowledge is almost unexistant in this. I just uploaded my website 2 weeks back, and of course it has PR=0. My site is indexed by google (when I write my url in the search box my site appears). I have just completed 45 links exchanges with different websites' pages with PR from 2 to 5 (different urls as well). However, every time I write link:http://myUrl in the search box, no result appears. How is it possible?
Another doubt I have is: Should I expect a change in my PR in the next update? I have 8 backlinks from PR 5 pages and 14 from PR 4. And all of them have an average of 10 outgoing links (including mine) and less than 15.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello agus77 and welcome to the forums.

Google's link: operator will never show you all your backlinks - it only ever shows a small sampling, and it is only updated every month or two. For more information about the link: operator on Google, see this thread: The link: Operator - it's not like other search engines! [webmasterworld.com].

For future reference, you can find this thread in the "Hot Topics" area which is pinned to the top of the Google Search forum's index page. There's lots of other good information in there, too. If you're completely new to SEO, you will probably need a lot of what's covered in there sooner or later.
