if I'm logged into google with a particular account, my site is ranked number 1 for my main keywords. if I log into a different account, or not logged in at all, my spot switches to number 2.

I <used an online tool> and did a keyword position search, and I came up number 2 all across the board.

anyone know whats going on?

Here's what that sounds like to me. Each account is a "person" to Google, and you are seeing personalized results, based on the activities that have gone on while logged into each of those accounts. Those records are not the same as looking at different data centers from a not-logeed-in query.

I looked around and saw a similar question on post on the front page here. I probably should have looked around first.
