What is banned - white or grey toolbar PR?

I asked this question in a previuos post but got no replies so I am trying again.

I have a site now not listed. The site command has nil PR and it was a PR3 site.

It now has no pages listed in the site command.

However the PR is white and I thought it would be grey if it was banned.
Should the bar be grey to show I am banned or does it not matter?

Thanks
Mark

Hey I was just working through some unanswered posts and though I would reply to your question..

I think the common thinking is that grey is for when google doesn't know about your site at all.. white is for when it knows about the page but it doesn’t have any page rank applied to it..

The real question would be did google forget about it on purpose for the grey? or.. does google know about the page but isn't interested when it's white..

My reply should bump your post back up.. maybe somebody else will chime in.

Additionally, you might try doing a search of this site (through the google toolbar search "current site") for what you are asking.. it might have been asked before.

gray barring a site when banned is a thing of the past, they no longer do that. If you've got a penalty, and they want to tell you about it, the only place is through webmaster tools or some very lucky few get an email.

I'm finding on the mac firefox at least the toolbar acts, well, a bit funny anyway. When I see nothing in the toolbar the first thing I do is restart firefox - dont know what that's about....

But I see grey all the time and no sign of a ban anywhere (as it should be!)
