Got some excellent inbound links from authority sites.

...is it a holding me down I link to them?

I have managed to get a few links from authority sites on the net for one of my clients.

Problem is I unintentially reciprocate these links.

In the natural course of building the client's site I randomly linked out to these authorities but now they link to the client.

Should I then go through the client's site and remove these links to the authority sites and so therefore creating one-way links from the authorities....so as to avoid any google filters on recips?

Or should I just get back to adding more content :)

Even if you remove the outbound links, Google now knows they were reciprocal, and may have put a permanent link dampening filter on them. Just a theory, though.

Here's another theory. If your outbound links were already there, Google does track the history of links. So it knows you were linking out long before they linked back. I'm guessing there would be no problem.

A few reciprocal links with on-topic websites are not a problem anyway, just a mass link exchange.

Thanks Tedster very concise. People should read that one-liner closely!
