PR drops to Zero for some long established sites

Has anyone noticed a sudden drop to a PR0? A few people over on the Google groups board have gone from PR5-6's to nothing overnight. These sites are very established, non-spammy and have been online since 2000.

The SERPS however, have not been affected. Curious if anyone else is seeing this.

Yes. I am seeing it for one of my sites. PR5 to zero on the index page. Some of the internal pages still have PR4/5 etc..

The site is a stable, slowly changing resource that has been around with PR5 since 1998.

Me too. Same problem. Traffic actually went up.

I've seen that sometimes before a toolbar update. If your traffic is okay, it's probably not a big deal.

Yes I have noticed that 2 of my main websites have gone from PR 5 to PR 0. Both sites are over 4 years old.

Personally I think that it IS cause for concern .

One site has not been modified at all in the past 6 months.

Both sites have NOT had the any change in the SERPS but I suspect that it may be around the corner. Both sites do really well.

Yes some of the PR checking tools do show major sites at Zero. And yes, I do notice this usually happens before a PR update.

One thing that I would mention is that the 2 sites that have zero PR one links to the other on about 150 odd pages. For legimate traffice purposes and the other has a couple of links back.

Anything similar on any of the other sites that have gone to Zero?

Yes, seeing it too on a 1999 domain. PR6 to PR0.

The toolbar has been a bit glitchy. Like when going from a PR7 site to another one with lower PR, the PR7 will still show in the toolbar for the other site. Not steadily, just here and there.

Bet there's a TB update coming up soon.

I noticed the same on an older site... no drop in serps either but pr0 in toolbar. The last time this happened nothing happened and it eventually went back to its pr.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's no biggie as toolbar PR does not reflect the current reality. Any fallout from a wiped out PR would have happened already.

The problem with the public version of PageRank is usually a glitchy toolbar or an index update where the values are being re-calculated.

Windows Explorer PR toolbar is working fine for me, Firefox isn't.

My Serps had a drop off around Easter, weather & holidays?

But my traffic levels are now where they should be.

Also I believe Google are making changes, possibly algo, at the moment, only they know...

I think its around 3 days since those pages are at pr0, usually with updates they fluctuate for a short period of time?

HI Guys

I have had the samething. PR 5 to 0. Started in my toolbar then I checked datacentres. 60% of the datacentres yesterday said I was still on PR5. Then today all datacentres say 0. My results in SERPS are still excellent and traffic the same. Is it time to panic?

Has this happened to anyone else before and if so how long did it take for the PR to comeback?

One other question please I havent been here for a while and was wondering if Googleguy still drops by to let us know whats happening?

same this haapened with my site. google PR updation is in progress? bcoz i lost my 5PR today...yesterday google tool bar showes 5PR of my site. one of my competitor also lost the PR. can anybody tell me what is going on in google..

My main site has gone from PR4 to 0.

Got a funny leap-jump-drop as well. PR went up, resulting about triple the normal hits, this happened on Monday April 23 and it went down the drain again as of yesterday. I did not change a thing in the website in the meantime. Nada zip.

Drives me nuts that this is completely incomprehensible.

ZIMBA : very true and same happened here, infact those sites which went to pr0 all had the same thing, some specific data centers were showing original pr (60% of them) while others showing 0, today all are showing 0.

Same here. PR4 down to 0. Site's gone from PR3 to PR4 on the last major PR update. It cant be accidental that so many well PR-ed sites are down. I am worried. It seems we are gone from SERPs too. What is going on? Traffic is still steady...

I see it now on our newer site that just spun off. Looks like a back link update is spreading. Its on about 1/2 the data centers now.

Well, since yesterday my PageRank has dropped to 0 (zero). I checked my PageRank with an online PageRank check tool & all data centers show 0!

Ours did that last update, but we did not lose any traffic. So if your traffic is the same do not worry about it.

Our established company and web presence, also went to pr zero. I wonder if there is a toolbar glitch on a single Google data center... are company is in S. California... anyone else?
