I saw that Google results displayed a time and "2 visits" by one of my pages and just a time by a number of others. Can someone point me to a link on webmasterworld with further information about this?

piney - Would you clarify this please. It doesn't sound like you're talking about Google search results. Are you referring to a report page on some other Google application?

piney is correct. I noticed it a day or two ago. You visit a page then do a search where that page is in the serps and you'll see the date and number of times you visited the page. I suspect it is to help people doing research.

This has been a feature of Google for quite some time.

Log into your Google account, and go to their help pages, there should be some additional information somewhere by the "personalized search" or "search history" functions.

But since it only shows if you're logged in with your Google account, I have a hard time trying to imagine what it could be used for.

Apart of what it is.

Thanks! That makes sense.

It happens usually when the cookie to hold your expiry time in Google webmaster tools has not expired, and then consequently shows that data in those searches.

If you logout of webmaster tools then usually Its gone.

This is the new personalised search history which is being implemented by google i find this really annoying as it did not ask my permission before storing the history it must be buried in one of the TOS i am sure, you can turn it off permanently.

you can delete your history by going to your Google Account page, then hit “Edit” next to services, then click “Delete Personalized Search”.

Google describes this feature as “an improvement to Google search that orders your search results based on what you’ve searched for in the past,” going on to say that you “may not notice much difference at first, but as you build up your search history, your personalized search results will continue to improve.”

I disable the feature as well. It could be very useful for some, as said above doing research, but I prefer not to have that sort of thing stored for big brother's future reference, use and analysis.
