Hello!

I was maintaining a PR5 website on a Windows server for almost eight years and last year I decided to upgrade to a Linux server and therefore registered a new domain and placed a http refresh redirect from the old domain to the new domain. Couple of months later the PR of the new domain went from PR0 - PR5.

However last month I replaced the http refresh redirect from the old domain with a 301 redirect(permanantly moved)pointing to the new domain.

To my surprise since yesterday the PR of my new & old domain has dropped to PR2

What could have caused this!

Thanx

it takes a while for google to transfer over pr to the new page. Took us about 3 months.

have to agree, it takes a while...before things get back to normal...

personally, I've seen anywhere between 4 weeks and 6 months before the 301 is taking care of things like it should....
