The EU extension in the SERPs?

Harder to spot than the Dodo....

I am thinking of purchasing an EU domain but I have to confess I am put off by the fact I rarely see it in any of the searches I do (and I do a lot).

Has anyone else noticed this? The domains have been available for a while and you would think site owners would have some search engine joy by now?

Some are probably still sandboxed but you have to put this in perspective. While there were millions of EU domains purchased the vast majority were only purchased because of their potential or perceived value. Many others will just be pointing to established domains.

It is very unlikely that any more than a few of them have been developed into actual websites.

I got a few and they rank ok, no trouble there, but if I would rank the domain name extension I would say.

.net

I am sure that EU domains will have the same chance as al the rest.

I am sure that EU domains will have the same chance as all the rest.

Agreed (excepting the natural advantages of country domains in restricted searches).

From my experience with colleagues, clients and friends, most of the purchases were preemptive to stop landgrabbers and squatters and the domains are now anyway redirected to a current domain (in other words, it was a form of blackmail).
