Dear all,

I don not know this topic has been discussed or not: Bad url or bad website.

I have exchanged link with a site: that may be penalized by Google because it is not on top 1000 when I search for its domain name: example.com

However, I did not link to its homepage: example.com, but its internal page: example.com/url.html which has very high ranking for its keywords on title. So it seems to me that example.com/url.html has not been banned by Google.

Now I wonder Google bans the whole website or only a specific webpage in a site?

I do not know what the answer is, but my site has been affected adversely from linking to that url: my ranking keeps falling and falling each day....my link page: that pointed to the example.com/url.html has gone out of the Google index. So I did remove the link.

Uhm, I now am getting worried about the future of my site, I dont know what further should I do now to get back the previous ranking, please advise me, gurus. I hate link exchange and then I will remove all the external links.

Thanks for your help.

Kurt

Does the text string "example.com" appear anywhere on their site?
